Microblading Technique

ABOUT

Microblading, a tattooing technique, utilizes a small handheld tool that is made of a number of tiny needles and is used to add some semi-permanent pigment to skin. Microblading is different from more standard eyebrow tattooing in that each hairstroke is created by hand using the blade that creates fine slices to the skin. Eyebrow tattoos, on the other hand, are done with a machine and a single needle.

Microblading is usually performed on the eyebrows to create, reshape, or enhance their appearance in both color and shape. Pigment is deposited into the upper region of the dermis, so that it fades more quickly than more traditional tattooing techniques, that deposit the pigment more deeply. Microblading artists are not always tattoo artists, or vice-versa, because the differing techniques require specialized individual training.

DURABILITY

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo. Like other tattoos, microblading can fade in color which depends on multiple factors such as the quality of the pigment/ink used, exposure to UV, elements in skincare products, medications, and more. Treatments usually last anywhere from one to two years. A touch-up session is usually encouraged about six months after your first Microblading procedure.

SAFETY

Safety precautions with Microblading are similar to those in place for any other form of tattooing technique. The most common complications as well as client dissatisfaction that can result from any method of tattooing is often misapplication of the tattooing pigment, colour change, pigment migration, and in a few instances, unintended hyperpigmentation.
