Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy

ABOUT

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a non-invasive and safe rejuvenation treatment because it is autologous — meaning it uses blood plasma from your own body to rejuvenate the skin. This is why it is sometimes called a “vampire facelift” but it is not a surgical facelift in the true sense of the word. It is a much less invasive procedure wherein the plasma is enriched with platelets – blood cells whose function is to promote faster healing with less swelling and bruising.

APPLICATIONS

-- Wrinkles, fine lines, scars on the face, neck, and hands
-- Crow’s feet or dark circles under the eyes
-- Dull, rough, or sallow skin tone and texture
-- Acne scarring

POST-OP CARE

Recovery time varies but typically it takes 2-3 days to return to social activities, with optimal results being evident within 5-6 weeks. It is recommended to avoid wearing makeup for a few days after the procedure. Your skin will be regenerating new skin cell growth so it will need extra protection from sun. Avoid sun exposure for at least one month after treatment — even in winter or in a cold climate. Wear a broad-spectrum sunblock with a minimum SPF of 30. The primary active ingredients of your sunblock should include zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. You will be provided with an aftercare program that includes recommended sun protection products and skincare tips.
